Bloors wins appeal bid    28 March, 2014

Bloors have won the right to appeal again after it was refused planning permission to build 91 homes next to the village cemetery in Groby.

Sitting in the High Court, Mr Justice Lindblom ordered the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to look again at Bloor Home's application to build on green wedge land between Groby and Ratby.

He ruled that a Planning Inspector failed to deal with a key point in the calculation of whether Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council - which refused the original application - had successfully demonstrated that it already had a five year supply of housing in the pipeline.

He said the Inspector may have made a different decision if he had dealt with the point, and that this meant the decision had to be quashed and the application reconsidered by a different Inspector.                                                                                                                                Source: Leicester Mercury, Thursday 27th March 2014.
