Recreation Areas
Green Spaces are run by the Borough Council, County Council and Parish Councils.
Leicestershire County Council manages Bosworth Battlefield and Market Bosworth Country Park, and the Parish Councils are responsible for parks and open spaces within the parishes.
The Borough Council provides the parks and green spaces in Hinckley and the majority of the countryside sites in the borough such as Burbage Common and Hill Hole Quarry and Billa Barra Hill.
The Borough Council has invested and improved its green spaces in the borough through the delivery of the Green Space Strategy.
The Green Space Delivery Plan 2014 to 2018 seeks to build on these successes by further improving open spaces within the borough.

About Quarry Park
This park is located adjacent to Martinshaw Primary School and is easily accessed off Forest Rise. Access is also available from the A50 and Markfield Road.
In late 2011, to encourage more and more people to follow a fitter and healthier lifestyle, Groby Parish Council installed an outdoor gym for teenagers, families and fitness enthusiasts right through to the over 60's.
The equipment was purchased with the aid of a grant from the Parish Community Initiative Fund, and offers several different levels of complexity appealing to all abilities right across the board. The equipment is versatile and a combination of different units can provide a whole body fitness programme.
May 2012 saw a a major improvement to the area with the installation of new play equipment for ages 18 months to 14 years. The play area features swings, multi-play equipment, an orbiter, aero whirl, rota bounce and twin rider. In addition, new site furniture, including bins and picnic benches, are also provided.
Quarry Park is also the venue for Groby Junior Club’s Home games and the football pitch has an annual maintenance schedule that will keep it in good condition all year round.

This formal park is situated in Groby, and provides a play area for toddlers and juniors, as well as a BMX track. A traditional park landscape, the main footpath is linked to Stamford Memorial Park by an avenue of trees.
The BMX track at Marina Park is a new development by Groby Parish Council. It compliments the other recreational and games facilities that already exist in the park and in the village more generally. The new development provides a venue for BMX cycling in the village for the local community and helps to improve the physical well being of users. It also provides a safe and accessible venue for the local youths to ride their bikes and take part in a fast growing Olympic sport.
